MacinCord End-User License Agreement (EULA)
1. License Grant. OldAppleStuff grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use MacinCord on computers you own or control. Each license key permits up to five (5) activations. This limit exists to prevent abuse. If you have legitimately reached your activation limit and need to activate on another computer you own, contact licensing@oldapplestuff.com and we will be happy to help.
2. Restrictions. You may NOT:
- Redistribute, share, or publish the license key
- Redistribute the MacinCord application from any source other than OldAppleStuff
- Upload or distribute MacinCord on third-party software archives, including but not limited to Macintosh Repository (macintoshrepository.org)
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the relay server or licensing system
- Use the software for spam, automated messaging, scraping, or any other abusive activity
- Use the software to distribute, access, or facilitate child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexual exploitation, or any illegal content
- Use the software to harass, bully, stalk, threaten, or intimidate others
- Sublicense, rent, or lease the software
- Remove or alter any copyright notices
Exception: Distribution of the MacinCord application (without license keys) is expressly permitted on Macintosh Garden (macintoshgarden.org). License keys may never be shared or distributed publicly. Any license key found to be shared publicly will be revoked without refund.
3. Ownership. MacinCord is the intellectual property of OldAppleStuff. The software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
4. Trial. A 3-day trial is provided with limited features. After expiration, a valid license key is required for continued use.
5. Activation. License keys require online activation through OldAppleStuff servers. Each key allows up to 5 activations. If you exceed this limit, contact licensing@oldapplestuff.com for assistance.
6. Refunds. All sales are final. No refunds will be issued for digital purchases. A free 3-day trial is provided so you can evaluate the software before purchasing.
7. Termination. This license terminates automatically if you violate any of its terms. Upon termination, your license key will be revoked and you must stop using the software.
8. Disclaimer & Discord Terms of Service. MacinCord is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. OldAppleStuff is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc. Discord is a trademark of Discord Inc.
MacinCord is a third-party client, which is technically against Discord's Terms of Service. However, Discord has historically not taken action against vintage/legacy platform clients that are used for personal, non-abusive purposes. Discord's enforcement focuses on automated bots, spam, and abuse - not on individual users connecting from retro hardware.
By purchasing and using MacinCord, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any consequences related to your Discord account, including the theoretical risk of account termination. OldAppleStuff and its developers are not responsible for any actions taken by Discord against your account.
A note on pricing: Discord is free, but MacinCord is not Discord. MacinCord is an independently developed application that required hundreds of hours of work by a single developer to make this possible, including voice chat with end-to-end encryption (DAVE protocol, made mandatory by Discord in March 2026), real-time message rendering via QuickDraw, image conversion to 8-bit PICT format, and a full relay server handling TLS, WebSocket, and the Discord API. The $15 license reflects the hundreds of hours of work by a single developer to make this possible, not the cost of Discord itself.
9. Limitation of Liability. OldAppleStuff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the software.
