Wapp Floater 3.1 for Mac OS 8.5.x, 8.6 and 9.x © 1999-2001, by JŽrome Foucher email: jeromefoucher@mac.com web: http://come.to/thetijejhouse address: JŽrome Foucher, 1bis rue Venel, 13100 Aix en Provence, France ¥ Requirements : Wapp pro 2.3.2 or later!! ¥ How to install Wapp Floater for the first time and start using it ? Step 1: Drag&drop the files ÒWapp FloaterÓ and ÒWapp Floater ControlÓ over the active system folder icon. The Finder will then ask you if you want to place these files in the Extensions Folder and Control Panels Folder. Answer yes. Step 2: Open ÒWapp Floater ControlÓ from your Control Panels to launch Wapp Floater without having to restart. If it fails, restart your computer. ¥ How to install a new version of Wapp Floater when an old version is running ? Step 1 : First you need to quit Wapp Floater. For that, run the script "Quit Wapp Floater" provided in the "Goodies" folder of the archive. Step 2: Follow the instructions for the first-time-install above from step 1 to step 2. ¥ What does ÒWapp FloaterÓ do? "Wapp Floater" is the palette companion of "Wapp pro". It displays all the opened windows of the front application in a floating palette. Ê Clicking on an item in the palette will bring the corresponding window to the front like if you had selected the window from Wapp pro's menu. In the Finder, you can also drag&drop items onto the palette items. Drag & drop in Wapp Floater works like in the Finder: - dragging an item will move it to the desired folder. - option-dragging will copy the item. - command-option-dragging will create a shortcut. Wapp Floater works like a drawer. When it's collapsed, it is reduced to a small tab : Ê Clicking on the tab will expand the drawer to show all the windows opened in the front application. The drawer will remain expanded until you click back on the tab. You can also expand it temporarily by moving the mouse over the tab. The drawer will expand itself after a quick moment (this can be changed using Wapp Floater Control). If you move the mouse outside of the drawer, it will collapse automatically after some time. To change the drawer position, hold down the command key and click&drag the window. The drawer will adjust its position on the sides of the screen, depending where you mouve the mouse. Ê You can also change the drawer's width when it is expanded. At the bottom of the drawer, there are resize "triangles". Click&drag one "triangle" like for a regular window. Fixed a contextual menu glitch. Now freeware :o) July, 2000: Version 2.1.1 Now uses offscreen redraw. Added live-resizing. When the drawer has been auto-opened, option-clicking on the small tab will force the drawer to stay opened (even if you move the mouse outside) instead of closing it. The cursor will change into a key-lock for half a second to reflect the change. Forced a minimum height of 100 pixels when the drawer is vertical, so drag&dropping onto it when less than 5 windows are visible will not make the drawer flickers.... cool no ?? Minor tweaks. If Navi iRae 1.7.1 or newer is installed, when listing Finder's windows, control-clicking (or clicking&holding if FinderPop is installed) on a folder in Wapp Floater will display the content of the folder in a popup menu.
