Terrain & Landscape

You can create hills, mountains, hollows or ponds in the Terrain layer of the Layout window.

Creating a Mountain

There are two ways to create "mountain" terrain. You can generate the terrain by importing a grayscale image file (PICT, JPEG, BMP or TIFF). White pixels are high, black pixels are low and gray pixels are in-between. You can also generate the terrain automatically by selecting the menu item "Generate automatically".

You can move and resize the terrain by dragging. If there is an elevated terrain on ground track cells with a track then a tunnel for the track will be created automatically.

If "hollow" checkbox is checked then a mountain terrain is turned into a hollow. If "water in a hollow" checkbox is checked then the hollow terrain is turned into pond.
