Lilith watches you approach and appears happy to see you. <pb>"Greetings, <pn>. I am glad we get the chance to talk again. It is fortunate that I decided to stay here with this caravan for a few days or we would have missed each other. With all that is happening now, I wondered if our paths would meet again before the approaching tide of war swept over this land."

"Greetings, Lilith. Tell me what you know."
"By now you've certainly seen the Goblins. A legion arrived on the eastern shores of Wylderan only days ago. I was watching from afar when they landed, and I was able to warn the approaching caravan coming through the north pass to stop before they drove straight into that madness. Had the Goblins seen this caravan, they surely would have set upon it like wolves on a deer." <pb>"The Goblins have split into two groups; one just south of here, and another further down the coastline in an abandoned castle, near Mirkland. That southern-most group is preparing to invade Mirkland, probably looking for the Crux you found."

"You know about the Crux I found in Mirkland?"
"Erubor confided this information with me. A falcon arrived from the mainland merely hours ago carrying with it a note from Erubor. He said that you were going to seek council with someone named Karamiklan in the Astral Range. My task is to begin gathering forces together; allies that we can join with to fight the enemy. War is coming, and it looks as if it may be fought right here."

"Many people I've talked to speak of an approaching cataclysm."
"Yes, the motives of the enemy are clear now. If Malkur gathers all four Crux stones, he will leave this world and allow the coming cataclysm to destroy us all. The rest of the Orakur are trying to stop him; they will use the Crux stones to collapse the volcano, sealing it to prevent the cataclysm. We must aid them, for there is no alternative for us." <pb>"Erubor has made contact with the leaders of the Orakur, but it is unclear how much they can help us. Their numbers are few and their weapons are limited; the Orakur would offer minimal resistance against Malkur's Goblin and Taurax hordes on the battlefield. This has become our war, a battle we must fight, if we are to save ourselves."

"Erubor asked me to travel north, but all the roads appear closed."
"Yes, the warlord Alundar has closed all the roads leading into the Astral Range, but rumor has it that there is another way. Erubor explained that long ago Malkur constructed a number of secret passes, anticipating the need to move his troops quickly and secretively between regions. His forces are scouring the lands, not just looking for Crux stones but also for four curious pieces that will unlock a passage to the north. I have no idea what these pieces would look like, but they were devised by Malkur and so they would likely appear odd to your eyes. Find these pieces and they may lead you to a path into the Astral Mountains."

"Very well. Thank you for the update. I will be on my way."
"I'm sure we will meet again, likely on the battlefield facing our enemy, if not before."

"Greetings, Lilith. What war do you speak of?"
"Certainly you've seen the Goblins gathering on the eastern shores? They are not here on holiday. They have come to collect some kind of artifact, and it is doubtful that they will do so peacefully." <pb>Lilith reaches into her backpack and pulls out a note. "Erubor sent a falcon to me, carrying a letter with your name upon it. I wasn't sure when I would have the opportunity to see you again, so take it before you leave. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have much work to do."

"Lilith, what guidance can you give me?"
Lilith looks at you with a puzzled expression. "I cannot help you, <pn>. Erubor has given you instructions, just as he has me. Read his letters again, follow his advice, and leave no stone unturned. Fate will eventually lead you to your destiny, whatever that may be."
