Venetian Deer

This folder contains separate data and audio extracted content of the game "Venetian Deer".

The original BIN/CUE copy is located at the Macintosh Garden (same page as where this file was originally downloaded from).

The audio has been extracted to permit it's play in emulated environments.

The audio has also been saved as a Toast copy of the raw soundtrack "Deer-Audio-Sd2f.zip" and in MP3 format in the folder "Deer-Audio-MP3s".

But for the full experience and if you have hardware capable of playing the original, I recommend that you download the BIN/CUE archived CD from the Macintosh Garden, burn that to CD media and use that in preference to this.

The included DEER.iso in this folder is a Mac/Windows hybrid ISO image and can be played on any Macintosh running System 7.1 or later, or any PC running Windows 3.1 or later. Read the individual ReadMe docs in the mounted image for full system specs.

DEER.iso is double click mountable in a classic Mac OS, if you have the VirtualPC/DVD Utility also installed and you had extracted this archive using MacZip on a classic Mac OS. Obtain these from the Macintosh Garden if you don't possess a copy. On any other system your usual image burning/mounting software and zip extracting tools will be fine.

On the Macintosh, the game requires QuickTime v2.1 or newer to be installed (QTv2.5 is provided on the CD). It appears to be unable to run on QuickTime version 6 on Mac OS 9.2.2, so and earlier version of QuickTime will need to be used (QT 4 perhaps)? At the time of typing this up, I have yet to discover that limitation so YMMV there.
