Menu Options

Menu Screenshot During the demo mode, hit any key, or move the mouse or joystick to bring up the menu. To hide the menu, either wait a while, or hit the ESC key. When a menu item is highlighted, hit the space bar or Enter to select that item, or hit the appropriate fire button on your mouse or joystick. While a game is in progress, you can bring up the menu at any time by hitting the ESC key on your keyboard. The 'Play' option will now be a 'Quit Game' option, allowing you to abort a game in progress at any time.

Starting the Game

To start a game, choose 'Play' from the main menu with the arrow keys, then hit 'Enter' or the spacebar on your keyboard. You may also select 'Play' with the mouse or joystick by hitting the appropriate fire button.

Playing the Game

This program consists of three games in one: Airhockey, Ping-Pong, and Foosball. Below are descriptions of each different game.

Airhockey

Air Hockey

Control your mallet and try to score a goal by hitting the puck into the other players slot. The first player to score 10 goals wins. The mouse is the best control for this game, but the keyboard arrow keys can be used as well.




Ping-Pong

Ping-Pong

Move the mouse left or right or use the arrow keys to control the paddle. To serve, position left or right where you want to be and either move up with the mouse or press the up arrow on the keyboard. The player can score a point by having the other player not return the ball to their side. The first player to reach 10 points wins. The mouse is the best control for this game.


Foosball

Foosball

Mouse buttons rotate the men forwards and backwards. Keyboard up/down keys do the same thing. Left and right arrow keys move the men left and right. Moving the mouse left or right does the same thing.The object is to score a goal by having the men kick the ball into the goal. First player to score 10 goals wins.



Game Setup

When running on a slower computer, turn off the background from the 'Game Setup' menu to help the program run faster. Older computers should run this game in 'Low Resolution' mode, which is choosen from the 'Options' menu.

Blue Paddle

The mouse, keyboard, or joystick can be used to control the player's movements.

Setting Joystick Controls

Puck

To setup the joystick, go to the Control Panel menu for you PC by selecting Start, then Settings, then Control Panel. There, double click on 'Game Controllers'. Select the controller you wish to use and then click on the 'Properties' button. After that, select the Settings tab in the new window and then click on the 'Calibrate' button. Follow the instructions and once you have finished, the game should be ready to play on the joystick.

Hints & Tips

  • To make the ball curve in Ping-Pong, wait until the the ball is at level with your paddle. Then, at the last minute, move the paddle in the opposite direction of where the ball is heading.
  • The game will make a sound when the computer player is curving the Ping-Pong ball. Listen for it.
