During the demo mode, hit any key, or move the mouse or joystick to bring up the menu. To hide the menu, either wait a while,
or hit the ESC key. When a menu item is highlighted, hit the space bar or Enter to select that item, or hit the appropriate
fire button on your mouse or joystick. While a game is in progress, you can bring up the menu at any time by hitting the ESC
key on your keyboard. The 'Play' option will now be a 'Quit Game' option, allowing you to abort a game in progress at any time.
To start a game, choose 'Play' from the main menu with the arrow keys, then hit 'Enter' or the spacebar on your keyboard. You may also select 'Play' with the mouse or joystick by hitting the appropriate fire button.
Clear each castle by destroying the enemy dragons and orcs while avoiding spiked balls and lava pits. Unlock secret passages and earn points by collecting magical treasures.
Defeat all the enemies in each castle to move to the next level. Your dragon can fly or land on the green platforms. An enemy dragon is slain by 'bumping' him from above, whereas an enemy orc is slain by breathing fire. After breathing fire you have to wait a few instants before you can breath fire again. The fire indicator in the lower-right portion of the screen will light up when it's ok to breath fire again. Remember this when trying to destroy many orcs at the same time.
Keep an eye on the 'enemies left' indicator on the bottom of the screen (left-center). This will tell you how far you are from destroying all the monsters in the current castle.
| Coins | ![]() | When you destroy an enemy by hitting it, a coin falls out. Catch it to earn more points. Coins are made of gold and silver and they are worth different amounts of points. After a while the coins will disappear, so hurry up! |
| Keys | ![]() | You can use keys to move specially marked blocks and access hidden passages. Be careful, because unlocking these doors will usually free some enemies too, so sometimes it's better to wait before using the keys. There are nasty enemies trying to stop your dragon. |
| Enemy Dragons | ![]() ![]() | Slay dragons by 'bumping' them from above. Be careful of the dragons that move up and down, these are the trickiest to defeat. |
| Orcs | ![]() ![]() | These creatures may only be destroyed by breathing fire at them. They walk along the platforms. |
| Torture Devices | ![]() | Watch out for these medieval torture devices! There is no way to destroy them, they can only be avoided. Careful, some of them will move in higher levels. |
| Lava Pits | ![]() | Don't try to walk over lava! Lava is deadly, not to mention rather hot. |
The background and perspective sky can be toggled on and off from the Game Setup menu. When using a fast computer with a 3D card, turn these options on for a nicer look. When running on a slower computer, turn these options off to help speed-up game play.
The mouse, keyboard, or joystick can be used to control the Dragon's movements. Movement controls are different depending on
if the dragon is walking or flying.
