Deimos Rising
mod providing extended Demos Replay

 -----

Works with any version of Deimos Rising, 1.0.0 thru 1.0.6 (the
highest), Registered and Unregistered, OS X and Classic Mac OS.

Deimos contains 12 levels altogether, and originally presents
Demo play for only the first 4 levels. This mod increases the
replays to include 11 of the levels. Level 12 is the only one
without a replay.

To install this mod,
copy the 7 Demo*.film files found here -> to the directory
"Deimos Rising/Data/Local/film/" taking care NOT to copy the
folder in which these files come supplied.

To uninstall this mod,
delete the 7 Demo*.film files from the directory
"Deimos Rising/Data/Local/film/"

This mod was created by capturing "film" of each level after
they were played. The film system is part of the Deimos Rising
game software, NOT actual video, but a set of tokens
representing user actions. Therefore, playback of these tiny
demo files causes each scene to be "rendered" on the spot,
these are not video "movies".

Cycle quickly through the sequence of level Demos, by pressing
D at the game menu, then pressing Esc to abort unwanted levels.
The unmodded game plays levels 1 thru 4 then repeats. When
modded it plays levels 1 thru 11 then repeats, however after
initial launch of the game this begins at Demo level 5 first.
Levels 1 thru 4 are the identical Demos whether modded or not.

Press F at the game menu to see the "film" of your last level
you played. This special command isn't in the instructions.
Why isn't there a replay for level 12? I get the impression
the game's filming system avoids saving level 12, due to a kind
of bug in which end-of-game (leaving level 12) is checked for
and branched out prior to saving any film file.

This mod was arranged by me "SkyCapt" in 2019 for
macintoshgarden.org

I did not play the game to record these films. But it was my
idea that the first 4 levels remain in their original condition
not be copied over by user generated films.
Levels 5 thru 10 were submitted from player "deepThink" in 2002
Level 11 is from player "redbeanx" also in the year 2002
Level 12 you must tackle for yourself, in-game.
