Description of the Modification
-------------------------------

This is intended to be used with Clanring Servers. This is an upgrade to the
DM levels made by id. It adds cameras (intermission points) to the levels.
Saving the time and trouble of needing an admin to go around and add cameras
to a level everytime it is restarted or changed to a new one. Cameras? What
are you talking about? Okay, for those who do not know. In addition to the
plain old observer mode, Marmot has added to the ClanRing Mod what is called
"AutoCam" What AutoCam does is watch matches and players from set spots in
the level (Cameras). From these spots, it moves around and tracks the players.
It switches to where the most action is for you automatically. As a bonus to
this, it also tells you who you are looking at. This is a beautiful thing.
But the only down fall of this mod, is that in order for it too work properly,
and admin has to fly around the level and place cameras for people to watch
from. To do this everytime the level changes is annoying, tedious, and redundent.
What I have done is create a patch that adds in these cameras permanently. I
have done as much testing as possible, and have placed the cameras in as best
possible locations as I can think of. If you don't like any of the cameras,
think there should be more, or some need to be moved, EMAIL ME AND TELL ME SO.
I will change it. But I won't be able to do it if you don't tell me.

How to Install the Modification
-------------------------------

Hopefully some where in you Quake Directory, you have a special directory that
contains the ClanRing Server Mod. It is most likely called C:\QUAKE\CLANRING\
Okay in the clanring directory, create another directory called maps
(C:\QUAKE\CLANRING\MAPS\) Copy all the files contained in this zip to that
directory. Now, you need to unpak the dm levels from pak1.pak. You can do
this with WinPak, which can be found at this url:

    ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/quake/utils/bsp_pak_tools/winpak12.zip

Copy the dm levels to your newly made maps directory (c:\quake\clanring\maps\)
Then you need qbsp.exe. You can get that out of the file located at this address:

    ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/source/qutils.zip

Copy qbsp.exe to your maps directory also (C:\quake\clanring\maps\).
Then run cams.bat. It will take care of the rest. Then run your ClanRing Server
as usual. If you have any questions at all what so ever, email me at
pbaker@uiuc.edu. I will be over-joyed to help.

Technical Details
-----------------

The organizational structure of these cameras is based upon watching
monkies in a zoo run around and punch each other.
