1. What's all this then?

Bullet Candy Perfect is a fun shoot-em-up game! It's all about trying to improve your game and going for the perfect run (getting through the game without dying!).

2. System Requirements:

A relatively new PC (i.e. at most 3yrs old)
512mb Ram
2GHZ Processor
At least a 128mb dedicated graphics card
Windows XP SP2 or above, or Max OS X 10.4 or better
Up to date OpenGL drivers for you graphics card
An active internet connection.

The game will run on computers without dedicated video cards, but it will be a rather sluggish experience.

If you're on a Mac, it should 'just work', although the sluggishness may still stand if you don't have a dedicated video card, or you are using a PPC mac with 10.4

3. Making it Work.

Firstly, make sure you have un-zipped the folder containing the game .exe or .app.

Secondly, if you are using Windows Vista or 7, you need to either have admin privileges or if you have a limited account you will need UAC turned on. The game writes it's data files to whatever folder it's in, so you need to have permission to do this.

If the game won't work when you double click it, looks wierd when it is running or crashes during play or at a high score screen:

a. Make sure you have installed it in a place where the game can write files in it's own directory (folder).

b. Make sure you have the latest OpenGL video drivers for your graphics card - this is the most likely reason the game won't work.

c. Make sure you have internet access, and make sure your firewall allows the game to connect to the internet. The game only sends and receives online high score data (your score and the name you typed), it does not send or receive any other type of data or personal information.

d. If none of the above helps, try looking at the topics in the forums at www.charliesgames.com or email me direct at charlie@charliesgames.com

4. Using Controllers and Joysticks.

Make sure you controller/joystick is plugged in before you start the game. When the game starts, go to the settings menu, then click one of the arrows at the top of the screen so that the text reads joysticks.

Next, click on the joysticks option to go to the joystick setup screen. If you are using an Xbox 360 pad, there is a button in the bottom left of that screen to auto configure the controller. The suicide button is RB with this preset. If you are not using an Xbox controller, you'll may need to adjust a few of the values in order to make your controller work correctly. You are aiming to have the two blue circles in moving in direct relation to movements you make on the sticks.

5. Modding

Currently, you can only cosmetically modify the game. You can alter the models, their textures, any 2d image or texture and sound effects contained in the games subfolders. The game will currently only read .b3d model files. The game also currently expects the names and types of files to stay as they are.

I am aiming to add better support for modding with fatures for custom enemies, levels and player characters. If you are a modder, please let me know what you'd like to see on the forums. http://www.charliesgames.com
