/*title_start*/Partial Mesh Visibility/*title_end*/
/*text_start*/While editing any 3D object, ZBrush enables you to show selected parts of the mesh, hiding the rest. This offers enormous benefits, including increased processing speed (because hidden portions are not rendered). Editing actions are shielded from hidden portions, and certain features (such as \C020202Edge Loops\C484848 and \C020202Creases\C484848) are designed to act upon partially-visible meshes.

Mesh visibility actions are performed using a combination of \C020202CTRL+Shift\C484848 keys, clicking and dragging. Here is a brief summary; to learn more, view the tutorial ZScripts referenced on this page.

\C020202CTRL+Shift and ...\C484848

\C020202Dragging a portion of the mesh:\C484848 makes the points under the drag area visible.

\C020202Clicking, releasing \C020202CTRL+Shift,\C020202 and dragging:\C484848 makes the points under the drag area invisible.

\C020202Clicking a point within a Polygroup* while the entire mesh is visible:\C484848 makes only the selected Polygroup visible.

\C020202Clicking a point within a Polygroup* while part of the mesh is invisible:\C484848 makes the selected Polygroup invisible.

\C020202Clicking outside the mesh while part of the mesh is invisible:\C484848 makes the entire mesh visible.

\C020202Clicking and dragging outside the mesh while part of the mesh is invisible:\C484848 'reverses' visibility, so visible portions become invisible and vice-versa.

*If a point which borders two Polygroups is clicked, this action is applied to both Polygroups.

One exception to the above rules: if a single polygon in the mesh is visible, hiding this polygon 'reverses' visibility so it's hidden and the rest of the mesh becomes visible.
