/*text_start*/ZBrush's 3D primitives are basic geometric shapes such as the \C020202Sphere3D\C484848, \C020202Cube3D\C484848, \C020202Ring3D\C484848, and so on. The shape of each is defined by mathematical processes, and each can be initialized in ways unique to its shape/mathematical definition.

Initializing is intended to be performed before any editing/sculpting is done, by adjusting buttons and sliders in the \C020202Tool:Initialize\C484848 sub-palette. Changing any of these sliders redefines the object to its initialized shape and overwrites any editing you might have done. If you accidentally re-initialize an object, you can return it to an earlier state by pressing \C020202Undo\C484848.

Polymesh objects (including those converted from primitives by pressing the \C020202Make Polymesh 3D\C484848 button) are not mathematically defined; instead, all mesh points are stored in the objects' definitions. Therefore, initialize sliders are not available when such objects are selected.
