/*text_start*/The \C020202Stroke\C484848 palette determines the way in which each tool -- 2D, 2.5D, or 3D -- interacts with the canvas.

Each tool is assigned a default stroke type; by selecting different stroke types the tool can be made to perform in a rich variety of ways.

Most painting tools are assigned the \C020202Dots\C484848 stroke type by default. This stroke type applies multiple instances of the tool along the brushstroke path. By selecting \C020202Spray\C484848 or \C020202Colorized Spray\C484848, the tool can apply random scatterings along the brushstroke path. By selecting \C020202DragDot\C484848 or \C020202Drag Rect\C484848, one instance of the tool can be applied with each click.

3D tools are assigned the \C020202DragRect\C484848 stroke type by default. This stroke type applies one instance of the tool (or object), the size of which is determined by the length of the click and drag motion. 3D tools can be turned into painting tools by simply selecting any of the painterly stroke types mentioned above.
