/*title_start*/Global Illumination Shadows/*title_end*/
/*text_start*/Realistic shadows almost never have perfectly crisp edges. They're softened by surface imperfections, light scattering in the atmosphere, and rays bouncing off nearby objects. To simulate this, ZBrush offers partial raytracing in the form of \C020202Global Illumination Shadows\C484848.

To activate this feature, increase the number of \C020202Rays\C484848 in the \C020202Light>Shadow\C484848 sub-palette.

Increasing the number of \C020202Rays\C484848 increases shadow softness and requires more rendering time when \C020202Best Render\C484848 is pressed. If shadows become too blurry, you can decrease the \C020202Aperture\C484848 setting, which causes each ray to become narrower and gives edges more definition. A low number of \C020202Rays\C484848 can also give a mottled or grainy appearance to shadows.
