/*text_start*/All ZGraphs have \C020202Focal Shift\C484848 sliders which 'push' the curve to the right or left. In two particular ZGraphs, this has the effect of sharpening or softening the 'point' of the drawing or sculpt-edit tool. These ZGraphs are the \C020202Alpha Adjust\C484848 curve (drawing) and the \C020202Transform>Edit\C484848 curve (sculpting).

The \C020202Focal Shift\C484848 slider in the \C020202Draw\C484848 palette mirrors the sliders in one of those two ZGraphs. If a painting tool is selected, it mirrors the slider in the \C020202Alpha Adjust\C484848 curve; if in \C020202Edit\C484848 mode, it mirrors the slider in the \C020202Transform>Edit\C484848 curve.

Technically, the \C020202Alpha Adjust\C484848 curve controls the gamma of the current alpha, causing mid-level grays to become lighter or darker. Since many alphas have a bright point in the center, the effect is sharpened or softened focus in the center.

The center ring of the draw radius centered on the cursor displays the status of the \C020202Draw>Focal Shift\C484848 slider: if negative, the ring is larger; if positive, the ring is smaller.
