/*text_start*/Any alpha can be modified on the fly using the \C020202Alpha Adjust\C484848 curve. This curve serves as a gamma adjustment for the currently-selected alpha. By modifying it, the grayscale values can be shifted up or down toward black or white. This can make a circle into a bull's eye, for example, or a gradient falloff can be shifted.

This curve provides such significant control over painting actions that its \C020202Focal Shift\C484848 control is also incorporated into the Draw palette so that it can easily be adjusted while painting.

If you wish to capture an adjusted alpha as a new standard alpha, click the \C020202Make Modified Alpha\C484848 button. This will create a new alpha in the palette that is based on the current curve. The new modified alpha can be used in any of the standard ways, and can even be modified further.

To export an alpha as adjusted by the curve, highlight the \C020202Export Processed Alpha\C484848 button before exporting.
