Incidentally, any of the \C0202022D\C484848 or \C0202022.5D\C484848 tools can be 'inverted' -- their effects on the canvas are reversed -- by holding the Alt/Option key while painting. For example: the BlurBrush becomes a SharpenBrush; the BumpBrush adds dents instead of bumps, and so on.

Another tool, the \C020202MRGBZGrabber,\C484848 grabs color and depth information from selected portions of the canvas.

The remaining tools are \C0202023D\C484848 tools. Their names usually end in '3D' to distinguish them from the others. Most of them are primitives -- geometric objects which are defined mathematically, which can be initialized by adjusting certain mathematical components. For example, a Sphere3D can be initialized as a hemisphere, or a Cube3D can be initialized as a six-sided cylinder. After initializing, they can be sculpted in powerful ways using ZBrush's unique and intuitive features.

Non-primitive 3D tools are the \C020202Polymesh3D:\C484848 a placeholder for imported 3D objects, and the \C020202ZSphere:\C484848 an extremely versatile modeler which can create complex, multi-limbed models with ease.

All \C0202023D\C484848 tools can be added to the canvas and incorporated into the ZBrush document. When first drawn upon the canvas, they're considered 'live' and can be \C020202transformed\C484848 (relocated, resized, or rotated) or \C020202edited\C484848 (sculpted or textured) by pressing the appropriate buttons in the Transform palette. Live 3D objects are converted to pixols -- that is, they're affixed to the canvas and prevented from further transforming or editing -- when a second instance of the same tool is drawn on the canvas, or when another tool is selected. Naturally, these converted objects can be removed from the canvas by pressing Undo.
