Permission for use Re: MIX C for CP/M Z-80
------------------------------------------

On December 13, 2008 I sent a permission request to Dennis Saunders of Mix
Software, Inc. to make their decomissioned CP/M C compilers available for use
and distribution by hobbyists. Dennis responded with his permission. The text
of those messages is shown below.

Below that are my own conditions of use for any of these MIX CP/M compilers
and associated files that originate from my website or from me. I have used
Mix Software, Inc.'s end user license for their C Database Toolchest as a
guideline for my own conditions of use:

http://www.mixsoftware.com/product/db/license.html

Mix Software's compilers are not in the Public Domain. The CP/M versions have
been decommissioned and are no longer available for purchase nor are they
supported. Regardless, Mix Software, Inc. is still the owner of these
compilers and has the sole right to grant licenses.

Hi Dennis,

Please forgive the further intrusion. If Mix Software has no further interest
in their CP/M 80 compilers is it possible to release them to the Public
Domain or grant a limited distribution licence to hobbyists to use and
redistribute user copies of the CP/M 80 version. An email from you would
probably suffice as permission and disclaimer of liability.

This would be of interest to a very tiny segment of the online retro-
computing community. I would not hesitate to register a domain called
mixsoftwaremuseum or similar and formally maintain an archive with no need
from you for further involvment of any kind or to simply make the compilers
available from the http://www.cpm8680.com/ domain.

All the best,

Bill Buckels

Conditions of Use
-----------------

The above email provides limited assignment rights on behalf of Mix Software,
Inc. to make their decomissioned CP/M C compilers available for you to use.

You can use these compilers to produce and distribute applications, and you
can distribute application source code and documentation with no royalty
obligation so long as the applications produced do not compete with the
current Software offered by Mix Software, Inc. as a development tool.

You can also give these decomissioned compilers to other individuals providing
those other individuals agree to all the conditions of use in this document
and have read and are in agreement with the disclaimer in this document.

THIS DOCUMENT MUST ALWAYS BE INCLUDED IF YOU REDISTRIBUTE, IN WHOLE OR IN
PART, ANY OF THESE MIX CP/M COMPILERS AND ASSOCIATED FILES THAT ORIGINATE
FROM MY WEBSITE OR FROM ME.

You must not remove any copyright appearing on the programs, documentation,
or source code that are part of or included with these decommissioned
compilers.

No features, enhancements or modifications are planned, but if you wish to
forward your source code, libraries, documentation, additional tools or other
enhancements they must be free of charge for all to use and distribute. Your
permission must be included saying so and they must not be crippled in any way.

In the unlikely event the Software or Documentation that comes with any of
these is used in the performance of a government contract or subcontract, the
Software must be provided on a "restricted rights" basis only and you must
place a legend, in addition to applicable copyright notices, in the form
provided under the governmental regulations. Mix Software, Inc. and/or Bill
Buckels shall not be subject to any flowdown provisions required by the
governmental customer.
